UPDATE: Per Sports by Brooks Alfred had this to say afterwards:
“They were doing everything they could to win. It is allowed.”
Wow. I couldn’t have been that graceful. I would have threatened to eat him alive the next time UCLA and Udub play.
Here is the video of Tim Morris pegging Alfred Aboya as hard as he can in the face with the basketball. No excuses dude, the guy just had a fracture in the orbital bone of his face…and even if he didn’t…have some freakin’ decency. Tim Morris is gonna get his own chant next time he is in Pauley.

Tim, a senior, probably won’t have a chant at Pauley since he won’t ever play there again.
Root for the Huskies to win a couple games in the tournament so you can see them at the Staples.

Dear Unapologetic Jackass,
Legal-shmeagle. It’s classless to NAIL another player in the FACE with a basketball. Period. He could have done it in the leg, the arm, and even the torso. but the face? You know, near the eyes??? The most important part of your body? the grill? The first thing chicks look at when they judge the physical attractiveness of a dude?
So you’re saying if he pegged Aboya in the nuts…that would have been fine?

i was at the game and it appeared that the UCLA bench was heckling/yelling and clapping at Morris — probably why he got ticked off… not an excuse though

I could have sworn the heart or lungs would be more important than the “the grill.” The brain is obviously more important too, but it isn’t like Hannibal Lecter exposed his brain, giving Morris a chance to inflict real damage.
And if “chicks” cared about “the grill” the population in the UK would be plummeting a lot more than it has been.

yeah the players shouldn’t be doing the heckling, but I also agree that ain’t no excuse. Frankly, I’m really disappointed that none of the UCLA players got in his face afterwards. No one puts in more effort than Aboya and you’d think they’d be quicker to defend him.

There is a good chance that we see the Dawgs in the conference tourney. Right now the Dawgs sit in the 9 spot, but another win will put them in the miasma that is the 6 loss team at this time. Also Oregon state will stay at the bottom end of the conference and lose their opening game of the tournament to the #7 team in the conference (sorry Beavs, but that is the truth). That means whoever beats the Beavs will face the #2 team in the tourney. If Udub stays at the #9 team at the time of the conference tourney and wins their first game in the tourney they will face the #1 team (presumably UCLA /bangs head on wooden surface) and we can get that dude back.

1. For some odd reason, i never thought of it that way…but you’re right that’s looking pretty good.
2. I read that “bangs head on wooden surface” line like 6 times and had no idea what the heck you were trying to say. Then I finally got it and spit out the wine in my mouth (left over glass from last night) all over the sofa because A) That’s a funny line B) I felt like an idiot for not getting it earlier.
