Here was John Calipari, head coach of Memphis, on the best teams in the NCAA tournament:
“I’m leaving out UCLA. I just hope they don’t get calls in the tournament like they’re getting now. If they get calls like that they’re going all the way.”
In the immortal words of a certain first team All-American…
“Karma is a bitch.”
Thanks for the bulletin board material, Coach. It’s not like UCLA didn’t beat Memphis TWO years ago when UCLA was the underdog.
Some might say Memphis has Derrick Rose. You may have already heard that Derrick Rose has a phobia: he’s terrified of needles.
Russell Westbrook, UCLA’s resident Pac-10 defensive player of the year, has the perfect medicine for Derrick:
Mwahahahahhaha. Seriously though, it should be a pretty good game.

You know what happened the last time UCLA played Memphis in the Final 4. Some big white dude went 21 for 22.

oh man, you got the Calipari quote all wrong. If you are going to link to an article after taking a quote from it, please do a copy-paste. Stuff like that can give the other team bulletin board material.

I actually fixed the quote. That’s what the dude said, SI tried to cover for his ass.
P.S. UCLA D is a tight name.

blackjack, cool, I’ll give you that, it wouldn’t be the first time SI tried to cover for a coach. I also think Calipari’s intent was not to forget UCLA on the list of potential teams, not that he didn’t think we should be part of the list.
All that being said - great work on the blog, the quality of posts, the humor, etc. have all gotten better over time, which is a great thing to have other competent voices in the Bruin Blogosphere.
Go Bruins!

Thanks a lot for that, UCLA D. I really appreciate that kind of stuff. It totally keeps me going. You should totally comment more.

thats so sweet, you guys should get married…you have to admit yall had a couple questionable calls there in the last few games of the season. (shipp over the backboard and the love no-call) that being said, playing UCLA is not an ideal situation for Memphis, yall are fast, athletic, great D and potent scorers. its gonna be a great game, and i wish UCLA D and blackjack future happiness, yall were meant for each other

UCLA sucks, Kevin Love was always and is still OVER RATED and this stupid as site, and YOUR DUMB ASS can take this site and stick it up your fake ass.
Memphis is Number One Bitch!!!
Peace, Muthafucka!!

upon further examination, I can say to you, with quite a bit of confidence, that my ass is real.

Looks like Cal was right and no telling where UCLA would have been without the bulletin board material. Gutty Bruins? I didn’t see that. Howland should try a conditioning program for his team sometime….especially for Love. He hurt you guys by having to come out 5-6x throughout the game just to get air.
Good game….congrats on a good season.

Why are you concerned about giving out bulletin board material. Who in the hell reads this lame board anyway? About 3 of you. Memphis kicked your candy asses.

@Billy: way to pick a post that was linked to by the big lead, deadspin, and awful announcing.
