1. I’m terrified. I do think WKU was a vastly underrated team, but did any of y’all see North Carolina absolutely dismantle Washington State? That was a freakin’ massacre. If UCLA gets lazy or complacent against Xavier, Ben Howland ain’t going to make 3 straight final fours.
2. James Keefe. Wow. Unbelievable game. and clutch. It’s funny, cuz without him we lose this game and the dude was an afterthought 4 games ago. Good for him. and for UCLA. Next year, we’re definitely going to need all our bigs.
3. “Well, that was another exciting game for all the Bruin fans out there. I want to keep you guys awake and on the edge of your seat, so you’re welcome.” Thanks, coach, but if it happens again you might just inadvertently send Coach Wooden back to the hospital.
4. You don’t want to hang around me when things go sour. I’m not only a pessimist by nature, but I’m paranoid. For about a 10 minute stretch during the second half, I was screaming “we’re f******!”, much to the dismay of the fellow bruin fans around me. And their children.
5. Despite my criticisms, pessimisms, and heart problems, I still love this team and this coach and think this is our year. Yeah, the last two games haven’t been perfect, but that’s college basketball. Our boys come out to play when they have to. Don’t forget, we’ve only lost 3 times this year. That doesn’t happen unless you are a disciplined and well-coached team.
If howland makes 3 straight final fours, I’m going to start the official “Give Howland a lifetime contract” petition. Y’all with me on that?
